3 Teens Charged In Fatal Beating Posted On Facebook

Three Chicago teens are expected in court Monday after being charged in the beating death of a 62-year-old disabled man -- an attack allegedly shared and bragged about on Facebook.

The teens -- Malik Jones, 16; Nicholas Ayala, 17 and Anthony Malcolm, 18 -- have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Delfino Mora. Police say Jones punched Mora early in the morning of July 10 while the disabled man was collecting cans in an alley in the city's West Ridge neighborhood, NBC Chicago reports.

Mora fell and hit his head as a result of the attack in the alley in the 6300 block of North Artesian, prosecutors allege, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Mora was found unconscious where he fell three hours after the attack and was pronounced dead in an area hospital the next day.

Prosecutors say the attack was recorded by one of the teens using Jones' cell phone camera and posted to Jones' Facebook account, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The video was spotted on Jones' Facebook page by a witness and forwarded to a second individual who identified Jones in the recording, ABC Chicago reports. They contacted police.

Jones, who police say is a gang member, was arrested Saturday and ordered held without bail Sunday. Ayala and Malcolm were arrested Sunday.

Mora was a father of 12 and grandfather of 23, according to NBC. He was badly injured in a workplace accident 15 years ago and supplemented his disability payments by collecting soda cans, a family member told the Sun-Times.
