Court: Escape from Greek lockup was justified




THESSALONIKI, Greece (AP) — A Greek court has ruled that 15 suspected illegal immigrants who escaped from a police lockup can't be convicted of doing that because the conditions were so miserable there that their breakout was justified. The ruling said the lockup was never cleaned and the detainees were coping with lice, skin disease and typhoid.
