'Hoarders' Former Supermodel: From Riches To Dumpster Diving

So many people can remember the famous models on the covers of magazines, or walking on the runway. But what happens to those beautiful women as they get older and step out of the business? For Marlene, it was a long and painful journey culminating in an appearance on the latest episode of "Hoarders."

While she was a famous model working out of France and Italy, she had the world at her hands. She even married David Lear, son of the Lear jet founder. It was when she caught him cheating, though, that she started her downward spiral. Things got so bad, that she threw her daughter out of the house over some clothes hangers. Her daughter threw the hangers out, so Marlene threw her daughter out. Now she spends her nights dumpster diving, sorting recyclables and watering random plants.

It was a struggle for everyone to get through Marlene's anxiety during the clean-up. Ironically, it was another meltdown over hangers that helped her reach the breakthrough moment she needed so the work could kicked it into high gear and get done.

Perhaps the most beautiful thing about the entire process wasn't even the wonderful job everyone did in restoring Marlene's house to her. It was the steps that she and her daughter made to repair their long-fractured relationship. Hoarding is a mental disorder, so the physical work can only do so much. Relationships are key to a successful future, and Marlene looks to be on the right path.
