Egg enthusiasts, you might want to consider a trip to the South West of France next Easter.
Using more than 15,000 eggs, dozens of chefs (who call themselves the brotherhood of the Bessières' giant Easter omelette) concocted a gigantic omelette for a crowd of over 10,000 people on Monday.
The 43-year long tradition happens every year on the Monday after Easter, and is said to be born out of a legend about Napoleon, who supposedly ate an omelette in Bessières while passing through and requested one for his entire army the next day.
According to the event's website, the omelette is made using extra long spatulas, a giant stainless steel pan and a forklift, mixed over an open flame in the middle of the city. The massive meal is then served, along with bread, free of charge.
But besides being delicious, the festival also provides some seriously egg-cellent photo ops.
We just wonder if it tastes as good as it's cracked up to be?
