A pair of two-and-half-month-old potbelly piglets found their way home after being kidnapped by a man who stole their owner's truck on Tuesday.
Charles Borquin, a sprinkler repairman from Clewiston, Fla., had two pot belly piglets in his work truck. While he was completing a job in Hollywood, Frantz Aboubaker, 29, allegedly stole the truck when he saw that the keys were still in the ignition, reports the Miami Herald .
"People, they got nerve, you know, this guy stole it when I was in the back yard for five minutes, I came back around and my truck was gone," Bourquin told Local 10. "It totally put me out of business. They took all of my supplies in my truck and they left me with a few digging tools."
Bourquin was worried over the wellbeing of the piglets and took to the streets to look for them, reports WSVN.
However, in a stroke of luck, a neighbor saw and captured the female piglet running down an alley Wednesday evening. “I heard the little grunt and then the pig was running through the field,” he told CBS Miami. “I ran from here then I got the crate and I put it over the top of it to hold it down.”
The following day, a homeless man found the male piglet.
Also on Thursday, a Broward Sheriff’s deputy in Pompano Beach spotted Borquin's truck with the tell-tale “pigs for sale” sign on the back, NBC Miami reports.
When confronted, Aboubaker tried to run away but was tazed by police. He was arrested on counts of grand theft auto, fleeing from a law enforcement officer, obstruction with violence, battery on an officer, and driving with a suspended license, according to BSO. His bond isset at $4,100.
"I am relieved nothing happened to [the piglets]. They are just scared like anybody would be scared if they were kidnapped," Bourquin told NBC Miami.
