This incredible lightning strike will blow you away.
The image was taken late last year near the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and tweeted by the U.S. Department of the Interior's account on Monday afternoon. They identify the photographer as Travis Roe, who submitted the image as part of the 2012 Share the Experience photo contest.

Lighting causes about 60 fatalities each year, according to the National Weather Service. Spring thunderstorms can develop quickly, and the Red Cross recommends heeding weather warnings and staying indoors during storms to stay safe.
