One stay-at-home storm chaser got quite the shock while filming a thunderstorm from inside their home.
In this breathtaking video was uploaded to YouTube earlier this week, a bolt of lightning can be seen striking a power line just outside the person's window, raining sparks on the street below. The poster said the strike generated a "tremendous sound down the street" and lit up the entire neighborhood.
The National Weather Services recommends staying indoors or in your car during severe thunderstorms, and away from windows and doors. Pets should also be brought indoors immediately, as dog shelters aren't immune to lightning strikes.
