Hundreds of Phils have had their fill of Phil Robertson and the anti-gay remarks the "Duck Dynasty" star made in a GQ interview.
Phil Campbell has spent much of life amassing people with his name to help the residents of a small Alabama town named "Phil Campbell," which was ravaged by a tornado.
The unofficial spokesman for hundreds of Phils told HuffPost Weird News that his campaign to bring the world's Phil Campbells together has been hijacked by Phil Robertson's negative headlines. His "I'm With Phil"documentary and the Twitter hashtag #ImWithPhil were PHIL-anthropic efforts.
Now the hashtag is being used for those who stand with Phil Robertson, either to agree with his statement that homosexuality is a "sin" or to stand up for A&E's apparent breach of "freedom of speech." A&E has indefinitely suspended Robertson for his remarks in the January 2014 issue of GQ.

There's even a website and petition, IStandWithPhil.com, which calls for A&E to reinstate Robertson. It flies in the face of Campbell's philanthropic goals.
"It’s frustrating because "I’m With Phil" is not just a well-crafted movie ... it’s advocating this fundamental idea about people from all walks of life and all political opinions getting together to help in a time of need," Campbell told HuffPost Weird News. "This Phil’s fans are absolutely swamping the #imwithphil hashtag, which is something we were hoping to basically own once the movie got rolling."
The documentary came to be after Campbell organized a meeting of Phil Campbells on the 100th Anniversary of Phil Campbell, Ala. Before the Phil Campbell Hoedown, however, a tornado struck the town of barely 1,000 residents, killing 27 people (none of them named Phil Campbell).
It left the original Phil Campbell with a new goal: Save Phil Campbell with Phil Campbells.
Now that Robertson and his followers have taken over Campbell's social media promotion strategy, the documentarian just wants to move on.
"When you have a scandal like this dividing opinion, you just want to bury your head in the sand," Campbell said. "Personally I don’t agree with what the guy said but for the sake of the film I hope this blows over really, really soon."
Robertson's long interview, which started a firestorm of comments on social media, included quotes like, "It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man’s anus ... That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical."
In response to Robertson's comments, an A&E representative told The Huffington Post:

In response to Robertson's comments, an A&E representative told The Huffington Post:
“I myself am a product of the 60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior. My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together. However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.”
