A man dressed as Santa Claus was shot in the back with a pellet gun on Tuesday at a toy giveaway in Southeast D.C.
The unidentified man was shot twice in the upper back while he was in the middle of an interview with an ABC7 cameraman, who caught the entire incident on camera. The man in the Santa suit can be heard yelling in pain, telling bystanders that he was shot by a pellet gun.
Fire department spokesman Timothy Wilson told the Associated Press, that Santa was taken to a nearbyhospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police told ABC7 they are still investigating and believe the shots came from a second story window in a nearby building. A suspect has yet to be identified.
