Woman Live-Tweets Being Trapped Inside Department Store

A young Toronto woman on an evening quest for fitted bed sheets at her local department store found herself locked inside after-hours Wednesday.

It was just before 8 p.m. on Feb. 26 when Emily Keeler, a writer and editor, took to Twitter to document her search for security guards and secret exits in the Hudson’s Bay store. She even called the police in her attempt to free herself from her own private nightmare. Eventually, the store’s manager returned and let her out.

The whole ordeal was over in 45 minutes, but it was a roller coaster of emotions for Keeler.

Toronto Police also confirmed the story to CTVNews, saying that a call was made by a woman to non-emergency police dispatch at around 8:30 p.m.

At least it wasn't too long until she tasted sweet, sweet freedom once again.

While Keeler made it out of the department store unscathed, that was not the case for a woman who found herself stuck (literally) inside a Home Depot last December. Emergency rescue workers had to extract Illyanna De La Keur from a toilet in the store after she somehow became superglued to the seat. She suffered minor skin injuries.

Thankfully for Keeler, there were no superglue incidents.
