Maybe Your Great-Great-Great-Great-Great Grandkids Will Live On One Of These 10 Exoplanets (INFOGRAPHIC)

Colonize Mars? Meh. While some space enthusiasts are vying for a chance to create a human colony on the Red Planet, others say exoplanets like "Kepler-22b" and "Gliese 667Cc" may be more suitable for life -- human or alien, that is.

Just check out the infographic below from sci-fi group Outer Places for a list of 10 exoplanets that the University of Puerto Rico's Planetary Habitability Lab considers most habitable -- given the planets' temperature range, how closely they orbit their host stars, and other factors.

If none of these planets looks like the place you'd like to hang your hat, don't worry. You have other choices. So far, NASA has confirmed the discovery of 1,693 planets outside our solar system, and identified 3,845 additional "candidate exoplanets." And astronomers estimate that in the Milky Way alone, there are at least 8.8 billion planets orbiting stars in a habitable temperature zone.
