Water balloon fights were one of the few things that we could safely and fearlessly enjoy as a child.
Unless we are repressing the physical pain they cause, we don't recall any real discomfort when being hit with one. We were never very good at water balloon fights, but if memory serves, no one really cared who won or lost a water balloon war.
It was about fun and, perhaps most important to remember during this frigid time of year, it was about the fact that getting tons of water all over you actually felt good because it was so hot outside.
