Rolls of fat, bulbous bald heads, clumsy nude figures. These are the images Chinese artist Mu Boyan chooses to depict.
The sculptor molds impressively realistic likenesses of naked and notably obese male forms tumbling, climbing and grasping at their own bodies. With titles like "Fatty No. 2" and "Fatty No. 5," the sometimes small and other times larger-than-life artworks cleverly relish the milky skin and never-ending mass of unabashedly rotund individuals.
Mu Boyan's works, carefully crafted from resin and other media, have been on view at China's Aye Gallery. Scroll through the images below and let us know your thoughts on the particular brand of nude art in the comments.
